Q.1 What is the difference between Reporting and Professional edition?
ANS. Reporting edition allows just view (read-only) access of your SiteMinder® Policy environment while the Professional edition allows you to have administration operations (create, edit and delete) as well.
 
Q.2 What are the different Formats available for Report generation ?
ANS. Reports can be generated in many formats. Supported formats include

   PDF
   HTML
   RTF
   XML
 
Q.3 What are the different Application servers to support the PolicyManager?
ANS. Supports commonly used application/web server. Application is tested on

   WebLogic
   WebSphere
   JBOSS
 
Q.4 In my PolicyManager what are the different DataBases through which I can connect?
ANS. PolicyManager Supports commonly used databases. Application is tested on

   Oracle 9i
   MSSQL
   MySQL
 
Q.5 How to Perform the Search for SiteMinder Policy Server objects.
ANS. Here we have Search option for SiteMinder Policy Server objects in the main menu of application. This is totally different link to search the object on the basis of search inputs.
 
Q.6 Can I connect to multiple Policy servers?
ANS. With the ability to view multiple environments from a single interface The application now offer a single administration point across all policy environments.
 
Q.7 To view data from any policy store or smdif file and provide access to that data to a user What are the tasks to be performed.
ANS. Following tasks need to be performed -

   Create Policy Server/File Source
   Create User (optional)
   Create Role (optional)
   Create Access Management
 
Q.8 In how many ways we can create policy sources?
ANS. Using PMP application you can create two types of policy sources namely: -

   Policy server source: - Using policy server source you can access SiteMinder policy objects through the application. Policy server source fetches data from live policy server and shows it to the user of the application.

   Policy file source: - You can create policy file source through smdif file. Siteminder provides exports of its object in the form of smdif file. Using policy file source you view and generate reports on all objects exported in that file.
 
Q.9 Can I test my input data for policy store.
ANS. Through user-friendly test tool that requires minimal inputs. Using test tool you can test and troubleshoot policy related issues more conveniently.
